The NCC Raising event at Bishop Cotton Girls’ School began at 11:30 am with the arrival of Chief Guest, Lt Col Vinay Ahluwalia, Commanding Officer of the 1 KAR Girls BN NCC, who was warmly welcomed by the school’s Guide Girls and band students. The day’s proceedings commenced with the inauguration of the NCC boards at Gate 1 and Gate 2, followed by the blessing of the newly inaugurated NCC room by Bishop Vincent Kumar and the opening of the Obstacle Training Court by Administrative Officer Major Deepa Chandrasekaran.

The guests were then escorted by the school band to the auditorium, where Class 8 students eagerly awaited the unveiling of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) banner, which was revealed by Lt. Col. Ahluwalia and Principal Dr. Mrs. Lavanya Mithran, marking a significant milestone for the school.

The event continued with a warm welcome from the Principal to the guests and board members, followed by a soulful choir performance of “Des Mere” and an energetic dance by the ISC girls. Lt Col Ahluwalia delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging students to enrol in the NCC and take full advantage of its opportunities.
A motivating PowerPoint presentation reinforced the values of discipline, leadership, and teamwork, which are core to the NCC. The event concluded with a heartfelt closing prayer, leaving everyone inspired and uplifted by the occasion.
