Founder’s Day Celebrations 2025

The Founder’s Day of Bishop Cotton Girls’ School was observed on 14th August 2025, beginning with a solemn Holy Communion service for the staff. The service was led by our School Chaplain and Assistant Secretary, KCD, Rev. Theodore Williams, along with Rev. Christopher Samuel, Secretary of the KCD, and Rev. Solomon Paul, Convener of the Ministerial Committee.

Rev. Christopher Samuel delivered an inspiring message, drawing lessons from the story of Samuel as an agent of transformation and transition. He emphasized three key aspects: discerning who we are and God’s plan for us, listening and engaging in dialogue with Him, and being non-conformists when required, as exemplified in the life of Hannah. He concluded by reminding us of our calling to ensure that the flame of education continues to burn brightly, preserving the proud legacy of our school. A special song by the staff choir, Sure Foundation, added grace and meaning to the occasion.

The Senior School Assembly held later in the day marked 160 years of the school’s illustrious history since its inception in 1865. During the General Assembly, a joint Founders’ Day address was delivered by School Captain Anoushka De and Vice-Captain Saanvi Malteesh. Their speech highlighted the Cottonian legacy, the values of service and courage, and the responsibility of every student to carry this tradition forward. The spirit and values envisioned by Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton continue to guide and inspire generations of Cottonians.
