The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), in collaboration with the IHFC (Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi), successfully hosted the South Zonal Round of the CISCE Inter-School Robotics Championship (IRC) 2024 at Bishop Cotton Girl’s School, Bengaluru. This highly anticipated event featured students from Grades 9 to 12 competing with their innovative robotic creations.
CISCE Inter-School Robotics Championship (IRC) 2024 was launched On July 15, 2024, with 328 teams qualifying for the competition. Participants underwent both basic and advanced robotics boot camps organized by CISCE in collaboration with IHFC. Following a thorough screening process led by IHFC’s Robotics and AI specialists, 120 teams advanced to the Zonal Rounds, with 30 teams representing each of the four zones. These Zonal Rounds to be held at Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Bengaluru, will lead to the Grand Finale in Hyderabad. From each zone, six teams will qualify for the finals.
The Chief Guest, Shri Dileep Mangsuli (Senior Vice President, Access to Care, Siemens Healthineers), spoke on the occasion, commending the students for their creativity and enthusiasm.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Martin C. Borgai, Bishop CSI Karnataka Northern Diocese and Bishop-In-charge CSI Karnataka Central Diocese, presided over the event and encouraged the students with a short sermon based on the values of determination, concentration and connection which should be their main goal now as well as in the future.
The Principal of Bishop Cotton Girls’ School Dr. Mrs. Lavanya Mithran welcomed the gathering and felicitated the dignitaries on the occasion. In her welcome address, she wished the students the very best and also enunciated with the hope that India will continue to scale heights on the technological ladder.
