Celebrating World Environment Day 2025

The World Environment Day programme at our school commenced with a solemn devotion led by Mrs. Christy Bobson from the ISC Department. This was followed by a melodious rendition of “This Is My Father’s World” by a group of enthusiastic ISC students from Std XII, setting a reflective and reverent tone for the event.

Amrith Anusha of Std XII Arts delivered an insightful speech on this year’s theme -“Beat Plastic Pollution”-highlighting the urgent need for collective action against plastic waste and its environmental impact.

The programme continued with a creative skit seamlessly woven into a PowerPoint and video presentation, which included an impactful excerpt from a speech by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The skit was conceptualised and guided by Mrs. Sangeeta, whose efforts brought the performance to life and made the message even more compelling.

Students then took a pledge, committing themselves to the responsible and mindful use of plastic – a symbolic yet significant step toward a cleaner, greener planet.

The session concluded with a striking remark by Mrs. Christy Bobson: “Life with plastic is no longer fantastic — it’s pathetic!” Her words left a lasting impression, capturing the spirit of the day.

The World Environment Day celebration ended on a high note -thought-provoking, inspiring, and deeply meaningful. It served as a timely reminder for all to take conscious steps towards environmental responsibility and sustainability.
