On 1st November 2025, commemorating seventy years of Karnataka’s statehood, Bishop Cotton Girls’ School celebrated the Kannada Rajyotsava with passion and pride, cherishing its roots and paying tribute to the state’s rich Kannada heritage.

With due reverence, the principal, Mrs Christy Priyadarshini F hoisted the State and the National Flags, followed by the Bible reading and the opening prayer. Mrs Rosy Metilda, Head of the Department of Kannada, delivered the welcome address, tracing the state’s formation and greeting the staff, students, and parents. The traditional tone was set with the lighting of the lamp by the principal, Mrs Christy Priyadarshini F, assisted by the vice-principal, Mrs Sunitha Paul, and the teachers of the Department of Kannada.

The highlight of the celebration was a series of cultural programmes- a Bharatanatyam performance, a mesmerising folk dance, the group song Nithyothsava, a fashion show featuring traditional saree drapes, an energetic dance by Standard X students, and a stirring musical play on Onake Obavva.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the rendition of the State and National Anthems, marking a proud and memorable end to the celebration.
