“Nex Dextrorsum Nec Sinistrorsum”
These are Latin words which mean “neither to the right nor to the left.” They probably come from the Latin translation of the Old Testament of the Bible, possibly from the story of the commissioning for service and leadership of a young and new leader (Joshua) of the Jewish people, who is urged to follow God’s law without turning either to the right hand or to the left. It is also found in Proverbs 4:27.
The motto was given to the School by Dr. G. U. Pope whose family motto it was.
